A FAMILY AFFAIR
Gary and Nita Martin established Custom Designs and Blinds in the Greater Hill Country after moving to Canyon Lake back in 2003. Their story doesn't begin there, however. After nearly 50 years of experience in the interior design industry, Gary Martin has practically seen and done it all. It was always his dream to pass down his knowledge and legacy, and provide a means to keep his family together and thriving. Through the help of his wife, Nita, and a lot of hard work, they have created a solid reputation of providing personal service and quality installations. Here's to another 50 years!
PASSING THE TORCH
Gary's daughter, Sondra Gervasi, spent much of her youth at her father's side, often helping to sort product samples, sewing drapery panels, and helping in the office, all while learning the ins and outs of interior design. She and her husband, Robby Vance, met shortly after the recession of '08, and were both looking for other opportunities to grow. She left her career in Early Childhood Development, and he sold his irrigation company to join forces in the window treatment industry. They ran a successful business together in San Antonio, and now they've made the official jump to Canyon Lake.
COMMUNITY INVOLVEMENT
Our community is incredibly important to us; after all, it's where we all live and interact. Without community resources available, our lives would look very much different. That is why we're committed to community service and volunteering in many capacities, including river and lake clean-up efforts, delivering Meals on Wheels and assisting food pantries, establishing and maintaining community gardens, providing entertainment for children, donations to non-profit and charitable organizations, and so much more. Who knows, perhaps we'll see you on a project somewhere.
